Leadership is the art of motivating people towards a common goal. Being a leader is difficult and not an easy task. To me, being a leader means dedication, hard work and consistency. Many leaders have come and go. There are some good leaders and bad leaders. Good leaders embody dedication, hard work and consistency.
Being a good leader, to me, means dedication to a specific goal. In the definition of leadership, a leader motivates people to achieve goals. Dedicating oneself to a specific goal or goals is extraordinary. For example, Barack Obama is a good leader. He is brave, smart and a good example. During his presidency, he was dedicated to serve the American people.
Hard work can be defined as a great deal of effort put into something. A leader should be able to work hard. Being a leader to me, means working hard. Because hard work leads to success. When a leader is successful, he can maintain his power. He can accomplish a lot and inspire his people. That is what a true leader does; inspire people.
Consistency is a necessary trait of a good leader. It means being firmly held together. When a leader is consistent, his followers can trust him. A leader’s consistency is a crucial part of leadership. If a leader is not consistent, he may lose his followers. That is the last thing that should happen in an ideal leadership. Leaders that are consistent with their political views win. They win the people’s vote and support. If a leader is inconsistent, there might be backlash. This quality of a leader is most important.
Being a leader is hard. Being a good leader is even harder. However, there are three qualities a good leader must possess. Consistency, dedication, and hard work. These might not be all but it is a good starting point.
