Topic: I am comparing and contrasting the Pacific war to the European war.
In 1939, Germany invaded Poland under false pretext. Two days later war was declared on Germany.
The alliance provided limited support to Poland. The Allies also began a naval blockade of Germany. This aimed to damage the country’s economy and war effort. Germany responded by ordering warfare against Allied warships. In 1939, after signing a cease-fire with Japan, Soviets invaded Poland. The invasion of Poland, by Germany eventually led to WW2 being declared in Europe.
On the other hand, with the Pacific war breaking out caused by the attack on Pearl Harbor. The war in the Pacific involved the US more. Because Pearl Harbor is US territory. It was evaded by outsiders. This somehow drove the US into war. This is one difference between the war in Europe and the war in the Pacific. The war in Europe mainly dealt with European political struggles whereas war in the Pacific directly. It eventually led Congress to declare war on Germany.
One similarity between the two wars would be its causes. Both wars were caused by purposeful attacks from the opposing nation. The war in the Pacific was caused by an attack on Pearl Harbor. The attack’s total casualty was devastating. The US lost 188 aircrafts and 2,403 people. Whereas, the war in Europe broke out because Germany attacked the Poles.
These two wars both caused a lot of damage in casualties. That is one similarity between them. The Pacific war started because of an attack on Pearl Harbor. Whereas the European war started because of political division and differences.
